Advice vs Coaching

It is important that, as a visitor to this site, you understand the clear difference between a financial advisor and a financial coach.

Financial advisors must be licensed (or Authorised) through ASIC to be able to legally provide clients with personal advice in Australia, as they will be in control of your money. Most often advisors are given an 'Authorised Representative' status by a license holder (denoted as an AFSL holder) such as a major bank or major insurer (think AMP), or a subsidiary of one of these organisations. The advisor can only operate under the strict limitations, guidance and compliance regime of the AFSL holder.

A financial coach does not require a license or Authority, as they do not provide personal advice, such as which fund or shares to invest in, which insurer to use, or manage your money for you. Therefore, our coaches do not provide any financial planning services, we do however, provide clients with the opportunity to learn more about their money, and take true control of their financial future.

There may be times where we will advise you to source a reputable financial advisor when we recognise that personal advice is necessary in your situation. We will help you with this process by coaching you on what characteristics and qualities to look for in an advisor and importantly, what to avoid during this important process.
